Sprog was adopted from an animal shelter in Downey, California, on 9/11/98.
He is now residing in Whittier, California with me-(Holly), my
husband-Donnie, my piggy-Madeleine, two cats-Wanda and Prissy, a desert
tortoise-Shelby and a rat-Dimitri.
He is a one year old Australian Cattle
Dog mix. He has the coloring and mannerisms of an ACD, but the body of a
coyote. It may be because he is so thin. He was crammed in a cage at the
shelter with two dogs twice his size. He is basically a submissive dog (so
far) and the other dogs ate first leaving Sprog to the leftovers (if there
were any.)
He has a nasty case of Kennel Cough (which he is taking
antibiotics for) and a bite on his muzzle, but is in very good spirits
regardless.
He is friendly with other dogs, cats, my pet pig and even
babies. I had him for 2 hours and a friend came over with her nine month
old niece and the baby pulled on his face and ears and he didn't even
flinch. He is the ultimate sweetheart.
He got his name from Mel Gibsons
son "Sprog" in the original "Mad Max" movie. I am going to start obedience
classes with him soon. Then I will move on to agility training and if I can
find somewhere nearby, see how he does with herding.
