Comments: Home: USA His name is Popeye, and he is only 3 months old. Popeye was covered with mange and not feeling well at all when i found him on July 30th. Someone had obviously dropped him off in our neighborhood. He was tired, overheated and hungry. If this pup had been picked up by animal control, he would have been put down right away because he was in bad shape. Every inch of his skin was bleeding. It just broke my heart to see him. The really sad thing is that there are thousands of little dogs out there just like Popeye that do not get a chance. I decided to give this little pup a chance, so I took him to the vet and got all the necessary shots, etc. and some shampoo to bathe him in every other day. Well now it has been a week and he was doing much better until yesterday, August 6th. He came down with a fever and off we went to the vet again. He now has an intestinal infection. The vet said he is going to be ok and gave him a huge antibiotic shot(ahhhhh)and more antibiotics to take the rest of the week. August 7th Today his fever is gone thank goodness. So, now its time to try him on something stronger(that the vet gave me) for the mange problem. I am determined to get this pup healthy!! August 13th: Popeye is doing great. He has stopped scratching and the intestinal infection is going away. He is finally acting like a healthy puppy. August 30th: Popeye is given a clean bill of health. Was it all worth it? YES!!
